HELLO, I’M STEVE.

HANDS ON.
HEAD IN
THE SYSTEM.

I work where the cables meet the code.
Data centers, Linux, and a persistent need
to understand how things work.

Let’s build something Explore the work
01 / FOLLOW THE SIGNAL

Everything
connects.

A physical connection. A service that answers. A script that makes the next job easier.

Pick a port. Trace a little of what I do.

01 / PHYSICAL LAYER

Good work starts at the connection.

Fiber patching, rack installation, cable management, and the discipline to leave a clean handoff.

CONCEPTUAL PATCH FIELD / NO LIVE TELEMETRY

02 / WHAT I BRING

Physical skills.
Systems thinking.

BUILT THROUGH
HANDS-ON WORK.
01

On the floor.

Data center technician experience at Meta’s Northern Virginia campuses through Direct Line Global / CBRE. Racks, hardware, fiber, and clean cabling.

DATA CENTERS / FIBER / HARDWARE
02

At the terminal.

Linux is where I like to work. Follow the logs, understand the service, isolate the problem, and document what fixed it.

LINUX / TROUBLESHOOTING / NETWORKING
03

Into the details.

Python, pandas, and visualization. I’m interested in tools that turn messy inputs into something you can actually use.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PATCH PANEL

Curiosity doesn’t
clock out.

New Jersey roots. Data center experience in Northern Virginia. Time spent learning German in Hamburg. I like unfamiliar systems, good science fiction, and questions that turn into experiments.

things out.

STUDY NOTES & IDEAS
SEPTEMBER 2026
STUDYING / 001

Packets have
places to be.

Working toward the CCNA: routing, switching, EtherChannel, and understanding why a packet takes the path it does.

NETWORKING
EXPLORING / 002

What’s in
the air?

Software-defined radio, wave analysis, and a little-box idea: tune into a signal and translate the speech as it comes in.

RF & SIGNALS
READING / 003

Other minds.
Different worlds.

Adrian Tchaikovsky, strange science fiction, and stories that make familiar assumptions feel a little less certain.

GOT SOMETHING
TO FIGURE OUT?

A data center role. A Linux problem.
A useful idea worth building.
